  3.    A few notes:

  6.        MVBB.FON
  7.  
  8.        We at Mohawk Software use Telemate v.4.12 for our personal
  9.        communication needs.  This is a superb communications program
  10.        that is easy to use, and powerful.  A new file called MVBB.FON
  11.        is included in the archive.  This file may be copied into your 
  12.        Telemate directory and opened in the dialing directory.  This way
  13.        some time can be saved from keying in the entries.

  15.        ENTENDED.TXT

  17.        Sysops:  A new file called EXTENDED.TXT is included which allows
  18.        you to submit to us an extended description of your bbs.  This
  19.        description may be up to two pages (120 lines) in length.  This way
  20.        users can obtain more information about your bbs.

  22.        MVBB CREATION:
  23.        
  24.        MVBB has gone 21st century ;) .  Instead of creating MVBB in the
  25.        TheDraw, Cory and I have put our heads together and programmed
  26.        an information database and compiler in Turbo Pascal that will 
  27.        automate 90% of MVBB's creation (all we do manually is obtain the 
  28.        info from sysops and type it into the information database).

  31.        DISTRIBUTION:

  33.        NOTE:  You can receive MVBB automatically everytime it is released 
  34.        by being on CFMMVBB (a dedicated file echo specifically for MVBB) 
  35.        or being connected to the file echo BBSL_REG (see the Fidonet 
  36.        Filebone for more information).

  38.        NOTE on CFMMVBB - All nodes that receive FidoNet in Net 2609 AND 
  39.        in Net 260's Hub 500 are eligible to receive CFMMVBB; therefore, 
  40.        if a nearby board on FidoNet doesn't carry this echo, it is due 
  41.        to the Sysop's request not to carry the echo.  The file volume 
  42.        is EXTREMELY low... every copy of MVBB to date has been under 20k!

  45.        MVBB is always FREQable from 1:2609/14 under the "magic filename" 
  46.        MVBB.  Users can get MVBB from Catfish Mecca or any board that is on 
  47.        MVBB Dist. (see MVBB for bbses on distribution).

  50.        SYSOP INFO FOR AUTOMATED BULLETINS:

  52.        MVBB's Archive is in the new format MV??????.ZIP.  The ?????? is the 
  53.        month, day, and year:  ex. MV050194.ZIP is MVBB 5/01/94.  The files 
  54.        inside the archive such as MVBB.ANS, MVBB.ASC, & MVBB.TXT always have 
  55.        the same file names for convience in automatically updating online 
  56.        bulletins.

  59.        LOCAL CALLING PREFIXES:

  61.        There are 3 new files that replaced ROMEPREF.*; these are LOCPREF.*.
  62.        LOCPREF contains the same info as ROMEPREF except that it also
  63.        includes a Utica section (finally).  All information is from the
  64.        phone book and I double checked it for accuracy; however, I'm not
  65.        responsible for any errors.

  70.        One more thing, if the information on your board is incorrect or you 
  71.        wish to be added to MVBB, feel free to let me know (preferably via 
  72.        Fido Netmail), and I'll take care of it ASAP.

  74.        Cory is back!  Nevertheless, I handle the "paper work", database
  75.        modification, hatching, updates, and etc. for MVBB.  So please send 
  76.        all modifications and additions to me.  Cory and I work together on
  77.        the ideas and the programming necessary to keep MVBB up to date.
